On-site Requirements
On-site training classes and courseware are most effective in specific classroom, computing, and network environments. Therefore, it is required that the following provisions be met. Please contact Kristi Guyer (kristi.guyer@hp.com) for specific setup and/or hardware requirements or if you have questions or concerns about meeting any of the below requirements.
1. A classroom large enough for all students to sit comfortably.
2. A whiteboard with markers and an eraser. A flip chart with markers is not sufficient. Nor is a whiteboard the size of a flip chart.
3. A way to display slides generated from a laptop computer.
4. One Windows host for each participant. Machines must have TCP/IP installed with a static IP address for the duration of the class. The Administrator password must be available to the instructor on the day of setup. The class can be taught using Windows hosts only; however, there will be a minimal number of labs that must be omitted.
NOTE: Refer to the HP Output Server Install & Configure Manual, HP Output Server 3.5 Release Notes, and the most recent Patch Release Notes for more specific operating system information. Those documents can be downloaded from the customer support web site (http://www.hp.com/united-states/outputmanagement/support.html).
5. One UNIX host for each participant. Hosts must have TCP/IP installed with a static IP address for the duration of the class. The root password must be available to the instructor on the day of setup. The class can be taught without UNIX hosts; however, there will be a minimal number of labs that must be omitted.
6. Ability to install software from a CD-ROM or mounted file system.
7. One networked TCP/IP output device (preferably a printer) available to the machines in the classroom. The device should be HP Certified and in working condition. The instructor must be provided with the device's TCP/IP address or hostname on the day of setup.
