Course overview

HP Blade PCs and Blade Workstations are Remote Client Solutions that provide end users with fully functional and personalized desktops delivered via a connection to a blade in a centralized data center.

This instructor led course provides a technical experience of the HP Blade PC and Blade Workstation end-to-end solutions, including the PC and Workstation blade hardware, the client devices to connect to the blade, the enclosure infrastructure, and the accompanying software such as HP Remote Graphics Software (RGS) and HP Session Allocation Manager (SAM). This course consists of two parts:

HP Blade PC—Workstation Essentials Part 1 (This 2day course) consists of two full days of live online training on the solution, and is held in the HP Virtual Rooms with a lecture only delivery format.


Prerequisites

Before taking this class you should be able to:

  • Demonstrate knowledge of key networking concepts in a Windows server environment to include TCP/IP networking
  • Demonstrate knowledge of key components of Windows 2003 Advanced or Standard Edition Server platform including: Active Directory, DHCP, DNS, domain server, and Group Policy and Group Policy Objects (GPOS)
  • Describe benefits of ProLiant Essentials Foundation Pack components: HP Insight Manager and SmartStart and Rapid Deployment Pack (RDP) based on the Altiris image management product. (HP Course # HE645S)
  • Create, capture, and deploy an image on a Blade PC and a Thin Client using Altiris/Rapid Deployment Pack (RDP)
    • HP BladeSystem Hardware Installation and Configuration (c-Class) (HG813S)
    • HP BladeSystem Administration Training (HE646S)
    • HP Insight Control Suite: Overview (HE643S)
    • HP Insight Control Suite: Managing and Monitoring with HP SIM (HE644S)

Students will benefit by attending the following courses:

  • Supporting HP Remote Graphics Software WBT (HG760AAE)
  • Addressing the HP Thin Client Image and Operating System (HG816S)

Audience

This course is intended for HP Pre-sales system architects/technical consultants, authorized HP Partners, Resellers and others who will be involved in the deployment of the HP Blade PC and Blade Workstation Solutions. This course is also appropriate for those involved in the service and support of the solution.
